Sheila Blow was born in New Jersey and raised in Orlando, Florida. As a child, she moved to Orlando with her family in February of 1956. Sheila is mostly a self-taught fine art artist who also holds a Diploma Degree in Commercial Art. Ms Blow has exhibited her work in art shows, art exhibits, galleries, and “One Man/Woman Shows”, and has won ribbons for her work.
Ms. Blow maintains memberships in the National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA/FL) since 2004, in the National League of American Pen Women (NLAPW) since 1993, and the Florida Museum of Women Artists.
In the year 2010, Sheila served on the Founding Board of Directors for the Florida Museum for Women Artists.
After moving to Hudson, Florida on the west coast in 2006, Sheila accepted the position of Central West Regional Director of the Florida Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts. As Regional Director, she acquired seven (7) exhibits for her members, an article in the Tampa Tribune about her group exhibit, was interviewed about her region/organization on Public Access TV (Cultural Vultures), and made a video of her regional artists and their art.
In 1995, Sheila had her own mural business as well as her fine art business.
Ms. Blow served as President of the Artists League of Orange county (ALOC) in 1992 & 1993.
This artist has always been very active in the art communities where she has lived. Ms. Blow has judged and juried art shows, taught art, demonstrated and lectured on art. She spearheaded a project to exhibit artists at the Mayor’s Lobby in the Apopka City Hall coordinating and scheduling exhibits.
Sheila was one of the first “Artists-in-Residence to demonstrate and exhibit her art at the Orlando Café Tu Tu Tango in 1994, '95, '96.
Sheila has participated in President Bush, Sr.’s “City of Light” project, and the Orlando Mayor’s Street Chalking Art for the Youth Program, and held a seat on the Beautification Board of Apopka, Florida.
Ms. Blow also judged the Apopka Art & Foliage Festival one year, another year she judged kids art in the Apopka Art & Foliage Festival, judged ALOC Mayflower Show, and other exhibits, judged kids art for the cover of "The Phone Book".
