F.A.Q.

Can I get the painting without the frame?

All paintings come with a frame and are the same price with or without the frame. You are free to change the frame if you like.

What are giclees?

A giclee is a reproduction/print of an original painting put on canvas to give the illusion of an original painting at a lower cost.

Do you do commission work?

I have done commission work; however, my schedule now rarely allows time for commission work.  I will gladly discuss doing a commission piece with you.  We would need to discuss subject matter, color scheme, and size first.  Usually commission work is about 3 times as costly as a pre-existing painting.

Do you do murals?

In the past, I had my own mural business and have done many murals, but do not do murals at this time.

What type of paint do you use?

The medium I like the most is acrylics.  It does not fade or crack with age like oils do, it lasts indefinitely.  I think the masters would have used acrylics if they had them.  Acrylics work with water so there is no smell or toxin that you get with turpentine.  I like to paint on canvas the most, but I will do work on watercolor paper occasionally.  Canvas is the most durable with time.

How do you clean the painting?

You dry wipe the painting.  If it is really dirty, you wipe it gently with a damp cloth, almost dry cloth.

Can I put a painting in the bathroom?

It is not advisable.  Steam could cause the paint to peel.  I have prints of my paintings sealed on 4” x 6” framed tile, which would be best for the bathroom.  Larger tile may be possible with an increase on cost.
